During the summer of 2002, Brentwood Baptist Church moved into their beautiful new 2,500-seat Worship Center. The organ selection committee, including five musicians, listened to various organs and selected an Allen 87-Stop Four-Manual custom instrument. The committee desired an organ capable of supplying the foundation for congregational singing, furnishing beautiful preludes, postludes and offertories, as well as being an integral part of the musical ensemble.
Brentwood Baptist is a musically vibrant church, using blended musical styles, led by worship leader Dennis Worley. The church also uses two concert grand pianos and a 60-piece orchestra. The platform is constructed with a removable choir loft so that dramas using the full stage can be performed. Allen's fiber optic control system allows for five different stage connections for the organ. Because of Brentwood Baptist's high profile in the community, many musicians and interested parties have come to the church to appreciate the new instrument's majestic voice. The dedication service featured organist Jan MacKrell and a piece performed by composer (and committee member) Don Wyrtzen.
