The largest pipe and digital combination organ in the state of Louisiana was installed in Broadmoor United Methodist Church, Shreveport, Louisiana. The new organ is a dream-come-true for Terry Carter, Organist, and Mary Caldwell, Director of Music Ministry.
The four-manual Allen console contains 136 digital stops and 27 pipe stops. The installation includes 48 speaker cabinets that blend with the windblown pipes to create a majestic and comprehensive sound. Allen's exclusive Optical Sensing Technology (OST™) touch sensitive keyboards and MIDI compatibility are also featured on the new console. The Broadmoor organ includes an MDS-Expander II™, which adds the versatility of 100 additional voices to the organ's already comprehensive specification. "The First Lady of the Organ", Diane Bish, performed for the official Dedication Concert.
