Sakskøbing Church has received the installation of a 58-stop Allen Organ. The organ is located in the front of the church and is the first Allen Organ installed in a Danish state church. The new organ was dedicated with a concert by world-renowned French organist Naji Hakim on June 12, 2005. Mr. Hakim played his own pieces as well as music from J. S. Bach to C. Franck. The concert was attended by local parishioners and organists from throughout Denmark. Allen Organ Company was represented by its Danish representatives, as well as Allen's President, Steven Markowitz.
The new Sakskøbing organ includes Allen's exclusive technology featuring Quad Suite™ with four complete organ specifications; American Classic, Neo-Baroque, French Romantic and English Cathedral. Each specification can be accessed by the organist within a matter of seconds to present any organ literature in the sound for which they are written. Naji Hakim used these specifications during the dedicatory recital.
Sakskøbing Church has a vibrant music program and a long heritage. The original church was built in the 14th century. This installation joins hundreds of Allen organs installed in churches throughout Scandinavia.
