ALLEN ORGAN INSTALLATIONS

St. Peter's Church, Speightstown, Barbados
79 Stop Four-Manual Instrument

An Allen 79 Stop Four-Manual organ was installed in historic St. Peters Church, Speightstown, Barbados. The organ replaces an Allen custom dating from the late 1970s. The installation involved new scaffolding for the speaker complement. The organ was installed with divisions divided between the two front locations. In addition, a full antiphonal was installed high in the rear of the church. This particular installation features the optional Orchestral Suite as part of its QuadSuite™ voicing. The organ also was installed with AllenVista™, which allows for additional sounds via the MIDI system of the organ along with sequencing and playback abilities.

The organ was formally dedicated on Sunday, June 25, 2006, during the choral evensong service. Guest organist for the mini concert was Phillip Forde, with St. Peter's choir performing afterwards. The church's organist and choirmaster, Julian Bowen, states that the organ sounds sweeter each time he plays and that Allen Organ Company has truly made St. Peter's "The Mecca of Music."
