Three-Manual Allen Organ

Rose Hulman Institute of Technology

An Allen three-manual organ was installed at the Rose Hulman (of Indianapolis Motor Speedway fame) Institute. An opening concert performed by the late Tom Hazleton was described as "spectacular." Tom showed off every capability of the organ-classical, theater-style, and orchestral. Comments received were nothing less than stellar.

Gary Jenkins, the Emcee for the concert and the President of the Wabash Valley chapter of the AGO, stated that he believes that the Hatfield organ is the best auditorium organ in the state-if not the country. And Mr. Jim Slutes, head of the Music Business Department at Indiana State University, said that it was the finest Allen installation he had ever heard anywhere-an absolutely perfect installation for the hall.

Dr. Schmidt is a retired professor of mathematics from RHIT, as well as an alumnus. He was also responsible for the Allen donated for the installation in White Chapel at RHIT.
