NEW! Substitute Organ Service available!

In May, Allen representatives were introduced to a service for Vista Navigator called Substitute Organ Service, or SOS, a product of Church Music Solutions. SOS is now available as an addition to organs equipped with Allen Vista Navigator™ or Navigator II™. This app allows churches without an organist to order, on-line, entire services of music of their own choosing. Within a few days from the time the order is placed, the music is sequenced and compiled by real CMS organists and then made available for downloading from the CMS website. Using a PC, the customer downloads the service to the Navigator USB stick and then reinserts the USB in the Navigator. The SOS app and Navigator touch screen combine to play the service with such ease and simplicity that even individuals without musical expertise or training can learn to operate the app successfully in just a few minutes! Contact your local Allen dealer to find out how you could benefit from SOS!!

St. Malachy Roman Catholic Church, Sterling Heights, Michigan

St. Malachy Roman Catholic Church in Sterling Heights, Michigan, seats over 800 parishioners and had a small pipe organ pieced together from two small pipe organs. The organ never did fill the church with enough sound to adequately lead the congregational singing.

Justin Umbarger, Director of Music and Worship and organist, recognized the need to upgrade the organ to an instrument that would better serve the needs of this musically active congregation. After listening to some installed Allen organs in the surrounding area, with and without pipes; Justin decided that a 3 manual Quantum™ organ would be the appropriate sized instrument. It was also a mutual decision not to interface with the existing pipe organ, and that a pure digital instrument would be more cost effective and versatile in the long run. With the organs' 16 audio channels, St. Malachy's now has an organ that can lift up a full sanctuary in song!

A Vista Navigator™ along with OST optical keying and EAC audio inputs were options that round out the organs versatility for modern worship at St. Malachy's. Fr. Joseph Gembala, a musician himself, was very supportive throughout the organ selection and the fund raising process. There are numerous choirs at St. Malachy's, allowing 100+ people to be involved in the Music Ministry.

Regarding the new Quantum organ selection and installation, Justin Umbarger, Director of Music & Worship at St. Malachy, commented, "The new Allen gives a greater variety of sounds and a much fuller sound in the large room to support congregational singing. With the Vista Navigator, contemporary and orchestral sounds can be blended with the organ stops to make wonderful registrations!"
