Organ Success

HISTORIQUE™ huge success at ATOS National Convention

In July, the 2013 ATOS National Convention took place in Atlanta, GA and Allen Organ Company displayed several theatre models along with the new Historique™. At first glance, Historique may not look like a "theatre" organ, but that certainly didn't stop it from being the center of attention in the Allen display room!
Allen Organ Company recently introduced the REPERTOIRE AND HISTORIQUE organs. Don't let the compact design of these organs fool you! With a unique three-way internal audio system that includes a 15" woofer, these organs deliver Big Sound!
The Historique theatre stop lists got quite a workout from visitors, many of whom stopped by more than once to play the instrument, bringing friends along with them to check out the exciting new organ! Best of all, the most often heard reply on the Historique's price was, "Is That All?" or "Gee, I thought it would be more than that!"

The positive reception that the Historique received wasn't really a surprise. Those who have played it in Allen Organ showrooms have had similar reactions.

Besides the spectacular sound of Historique, its small size was the attribute most appreciated by convention attendees, many of whom live in condos or apartments. The specially designed 32-note pedalboard supplied with Repertoire™ and Historique helps keep the size of the console compact. A 32-note European parallel pedalboard option is also available.

Allen Organs also provided thrills to larger groups of listeners during the ATOS convention as well. Lance Luce brought the house down with his concert on a GW IV at the Strand Theatre. The link below provides more information about the theatre and its Allen organ. Kudos, Lance, for a great concert!

UPDATE! More powerful ALLEN MIDI Assistant™ successor to Smart Recorder™

If you are an owner of a Smart Recorder™, consider upgrading to an Allen MIDI Assistant™. The Smart Recorder's 3.5" floppy disk, first introduced in the early 1980s, is no longer considered a standard form of data storage medium in the computer world. The USB Flash memory stick of the MIDI Assistant is more powerful and convenient, providing storage for hundreds of sequences and organ capture files. The MIDI Assistant USB “stick" can also be connected to a PC for advanced file management or downloading of sequences and files from other sources.

MIDI Assistant™
The MIDI Assistant USB Flash drive also comes standard with over 200 conveniently organized hymn MIDI files and hundreds of other MIDI sequences suitable for use as preludes, offertories or postludes. Plus, the palm-sized MIDI Assistant Remote Control allows the MIDI Assistant to be operated from anywhere in the room.

For more information about the MIDI Assistant, or to find out how you can benefit from a MIDI Assistant, contact your local Allen dealer!

Point O' Woods, Fire Island, New York

Point O' Woods is a private little hamlet located on Fire Island, NY, which is a barrier island for Long Island. In 1997 an Allen MDS 51-S was purchased which has served their church community well for the last 16 years.

Unfortunately last year, Hurricane Sandy damaged the church and destroyed the organ beyond repair. The photo to the right shows the water level mark on the organ console and bench.

Between November and June 2012, plans were made to purchase a replacement Allen organ, an L-341DK. Additional plans were made, and implemented, to elevate the church and adjoining building by eight feet in order to protect them from future floods! The first few summer services were held in another building while the elevation process took place.

On July 3, 2013, the new organ was trucked to New York where it was loaded onto a ferry for delivered to its new home on Fire Island. Upon arrival on the island, the organ was picked up with a forklift and made its quarter mile trip to the church where carpenters were still working feverishly to complete the church's new surrounding deck and stairs.

The organ was installed the same day with the main speakers up front and the Choir and Swell divisions in the rear of the church.

Local inhabitants (even the 4-legged variety) turned out to see what all the excitement was about!

There's a lot of talk today about customer loyalty, but we think most companies have got the concept backwards. At Allen, our focus is on the loyalty we pledge to our customers, rather than what we expect from them. That's why we have developed a service support system to help Allen owners enjoy their instruments for a long, long time. Watch our Unparalleled Support video!
