Allen Elite™ Opus VII
"The Jennie Laurie Memorial Organ"The Elite program places the resources and expertise of the world's premier organ builder at the disposal of the world's finest organ designers. Each Elite organ is the embodiment of well-articulated musical ideals. Every console is a numbered Opus. Each Elite owner is rewarded with a world-class instrument of uncompromised excellence and exceptional beauty.
Elite™ Opus VII is a comprehensive four manual, 95-stop instrument designed not only to support the liturgy, but also to serve as a major concert instrument.
The dedication concert series on this instrument will feature major concert artists such as Peter Latona (Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception),
Sophie-Veronique Cauchefer-Choplin (St. Sulpice) and Diane Bish, just to name a few.
This new organ was built to replace a 12-rank Zimmer pipe organ that had served the congregation since the early 1970s. Due to a sizable anonymous donation, the church was able to consider several options. Mr. Kelly J. Wheelbarger, Director of Music and Organist for St. Andrew's Church and the anonymous donor ultimately decided that a custom Elite instrument built by Allen Organ Company would best serve the needs of the church.
