The long-anticipated installation of the large five-manual state-of-the-art Allen console and digital ranks to the organ at the historic Fountain Street Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan is up and playing! The new pipe/digital instrument is composed of nine divisions supplied by Austin Organ Company, with 179 speaking stops and 138 ranks totaling 7980 pipes.
Through its lifetime, E. M. Skinner, Casavant Freres and the Tellers Organ Company all contributed to the
building of this impressive American Classic organ. Consultant Jonathon Tuuk and Donald L. Westfield
designed the new specification. The pastor of the 1300 member congregation is the Rev. Dr. Judith
Walker-Riggs and the organist is Dr. Karl Schrock. The church was founded 150 years ago as a Baptist
congregation, and in the early 1960s became independent.
