Inspired by the Masters features organist Luke Mayernik, a master of the art of
improvisation, performing on a Quantum™ Q465C in Octave Hall, Macungie, Pennsylvania. The improvisations are combined with
famous pieces of artwork.
A native of Monessen, Pennsylvania, Mr. Mayernik currently serves as Cathedral and Diocesan Organist at St. Joseph's
Cathedral in Wheeling, West Virginia. He won first place in the National Competition in Organ Improvisation sponsored
by the American Guild of Organists at the 2004 AGO National Convention. Also that year he was nominated for a Pulitzer
Prize for his internationally-acclaimed composition entitled In Memoriam: A Requiem for Mister Rogers, commissioned by
Maggie Stewart, a cast member of the Mister Rogers show. In July, 2008, Luke took first place in the International Organ
Improvisation Competition hosted by the Royal Canadian College of Organists.
